One State for Peace and Justice?

Rather a Bi-national, Democratic and single secular state for all citizens in Israel and Palestine can and will solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has yet to come to fruition. Given that Historical Palestine was one state for many centuries before Israel's creation, has revived interest in implementing a single state covering all of Palestine-Israel as in the past.

Early Zionist thinkers such as Martin Buber believed a Bi National state served Palestinians and Jews equally instead of partitioning the land. The longer the occupation, apartheid system in Israel that favors Jews in legal protection, continual growth of illegal settlements, land confiscation and limited resources, over Palestinians continues to deny justice ie through international law based on UN Resolutions 242 or Right of Return of Refugees, an alternative solution for the conflict will emerge. In past decade, the idea of two state solution for both people is being challenged by the old new idea of a one state for both peoples. Instead of traditional and now nonviable two states in Israel proper and Palestinian territories, both Palestinians and Israelis fed up with the inaction's of their leaders and governments are advocating One state based on equal representation for all citizens Arab and Jews, with full democratic, civil and cultural rights. Many people around the world are beginning to lean towards the possibly if a two state solution is pushed to the side in the name of a Greater Israel on behalf of right wing government of Netanyhu. Even though it is gaining ground, Israelis still fear that such an idea as logical and practical as it can be given the continual spread of illegal settlements, failure of Israeli government to return to the 1967 borders or lack of respect for international law by Israeli government and military, will be a nightmare scenario for Israel insisting it reminds a Democratic and Jewish state. Given the history of South Africa, Belgium, Northern Ireland (its unity government made up of both Catholics and Protestants currently running the territory), Vietnam and Korea (Both countries divided by partition in North & South, Vietnam later unfied itself into a single country at the end of the Vietnam War), one state is not a far fetched idea in Palestine-Israel.

Water as a weapon of war

Amnesty International has stated that Israel is purposely denying water to Palestinians in occupied territories in hopes of pushing them off their lands which is against and violates International Law and ignores Palestinian human rights and equal access to water. Water is a scarce resource in the Middle East and as climate change becomes a harsher and bigger challenge, water will become a necessity that could led to war on a regional and global scale. Israeli military actions allows illegal Israeli settlers to not only steal water owned by Palestinian farmers but also to have more land to build illegal settlements. "Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink." From the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.

CBS 60 Minutes: Exposing Israeli Aparthied

Part 1. Summary is compliments of Youtube author Calpolyis who posted 60 minutes magnum opus piece. On Sunday, January 25, CBS 60 Minutes aired an amazing segment exposing Israel's apartheid against Palestinians. The piece is by Senior CBS Foreign Correspondent Bob Simon, who is Jewish living outside Tel-Aviv and produced by Robert G, Anderson. Also includes interviews with Palestinian leaders such as Marwan Barghouti on occupation, settlers and Palestinian life. Shows footage of Israeli bulldozers destroying Palestinian homes, olive trees and livehoods to make room for illegal settlements and illegal security/aparthied wall. For this unbelievable and rare criticism of Israeli government policies against Palestinians by mainstream media, 60 Minutes and CBS were slammed by Anti-Defamation League, their crime was critizing Israeli government not the people.
