Suspect Tsarnaev charged with using WMD

Bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been charged with using a Weapon of Mass Destruction ie bombs and mass murder from his hospital bed. He is alert according to the media but can only communicate through writing. Police shot him in the neck, hand, head and legs when they captured him on Friday making him unable to speak. A tube is currently down his throat to protect his windpipe. Ironies aside, the mainstream media particularly CNN, MSNBC and ABC News are already hinting at the death penalty for Tsarnaev's charge. Keep in mind it would be against a 19 year old American citizen not an enemy combatant. The White House has argued against treating Dzhokhar as an enemy combatant as Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain argued for in the aftermath of his capture. In addition CNN is still attempting to link the Tsarnaev brothers' actions to some unknown and unfounded foreign terrorist groups. Questions are still being raised about Tamerlane Tsarnaev's trip to Russia and the FBI's earlier monitoring of the elder brother. Many Bostonians and Americans want closure and answers to why Dzhokhar committed this atrocious bombings. Many are impatient to wait for a full trial to take place or for Dzhokhar to regain his voice. Even Canada is reporting that an attempted attack by Al Qaeda to use a cross border train transport rail between Canada and US has been foiled. It is now reported that Dzhokhar was unarmed when the police captured. The echoing hail of bullets heard in the video of his capture was most from police shooting at the boat with the guide of heating sensor goggles.

By the WMD charge against Dzhokhar, the same argument could be made about military weapons ie drones, armoured tanks, deadly bombings used by NATO and American troops in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq.

Suspect captured seriously injured but in Hospital

In the last four hours the 2nd suspect wanted for the Boston Bombing, Dhozkhar Tsarnaev have been captured by police (a combination of SWAT, FBI, Boston police, etc) in Watertown, a suburb of Boston. Dhozkhar was sent to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Dhozkhar has not been read his Miranda rights which is usually casted aside for terrorists or enemy combatants. The police ignoring the Miranda rights for the time being has rised the question of how America treats terrorists even when they are American citizens (read Anwar al Awlaki in Yemen). The police are receiving a hero's applause and thank you from Bostonians especially in Watertown as they celebrate an end to a week long ordeal. Now the analysis on how a 19 year old Dartmouth student part of the University of Massachusetts based in Cambridge,MA (across the river from Boston) could aid in terrorism and violence against his fellow students and his own city, the debate on gun battles and thorough background checks in order for Americans to purchase or own new guns which has been ongoing long before the Boston Bombings and immigration reform also an ongoing and decade old debate as it relates to the events in Boston began.

A recap of the events in the last 24 hours.
In the aftermath of the Boston Bombings, one of the two suspects are dead and the second one is on the run.  The two suspects have been identiifed as Chechen American Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 the suspect in the white baseball cap and his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 (also Chechen but not an American citizen) the first suspect in black baseball cap who was later killed in a shootout with police in Watertown, a suburb of Boston. Both immigrated to the US in 2003 as children, having been born and grew up in Kirghistan in Central Asia bordering Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Josef Stalin had expelled nearly all Chechens from Chechnya in 1944 to Kyrgyzstan and Siberia to stop a rebellion from turning into a demand for independence in Chechnya. Most of Boston and its surrounding suburbs ie Watertown, MIT campus and Cambridge has been placed on a 24 hour curfew and lockdown. The last night in Boston, MIT, the renown technology institute and also the alma mater the famed linguist and American foreign policy critique Noam Chomsky, reported an on campus shooting that killed a security guard. In the aftermath of the shooting, the two Tsarnaev brothers had managed to carjack a van and rob a 7-11, later free the car owner unharmed than briefly hide in a home in Watertown that led into a gunfight with the police in a short but reasonable space of time. Today, all of Boston is still unlock down as Dzhokhar's whereabouts are still not confirmed. The uncle of the two bombers  has firmly denounced his nephews' actions and pleaded his living nephew to turn himself and that their actions "brought shame to all Chechens."  Mainstream media channels ABC News still try to link the bombings to Al Qaeda or like minded terrorist group. A combination of US Marshalls, the FBI, SWAT, New York Port Authority, New Hamsphire Police, Boston and Massachusetts state police are going door to door to try to locate the wanted suspect.

Chechnya and its capital Grozny in North Caucasus. Chechnya borders Dagestan and Ingushetia. The Chechens have been fighting for independence from Russia since the Russian first conquered Chechnya in 17th century.  Chechnya has its own indigenous culture, language and traditions, Islam the major religion that borrows both Sunni and Sufi elements. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Chechnya declared independence but was crushed by a ground and air invasion that led to a decade long brutal war by Russia that destroyed Grozny from 1991-2002. Since 2005, Chechnya has experienced some peace despite instability and terrorist attacks in parts of Chechnya outside of Grozny and in Dagestan. Russia considers halting the Chechen independence movement one of its greatest achievements.

Boston Bombs: 3 killed and 170+ injured during bombing at Boston Marathon

Two suspects identified by FBI as persons of interest in bombing.

Carlos Arredondo: The man in the cowboy hat

On April 15, (Patriots Day in Boston), at 3PM EST (Eastern Standard Time) Three bombs exploded at the finish line at the Boston Marathon. Bombs also went off in Iraq killing 75 people across the country. The explosion caused mass confusion among both police and local peoples as well as international visitors in Boston. Keep in mind that the Boston Marathon is both a local as well as a well known international event that takes place annually in Boston, Massachusetts  United States. Historically, Boston holds significance across the US, it served as one of the main nerve centers of American revolution, the Tea Party (not the modern pretenders) protested against British taxes at the Boston harbor, the late President John F. Kennedy was also from Boston while his brother Robert and Ted Kennedy represented Massachusetts as long term senators in 1950s-60s. Boston is also known for its large Irish American population and its connection to cultural events.

CCTV captured both bombs exploding at the finish line of Marathon. A third bomb was discovered and disarmed by police while a small explosion at the JFK Library was caused by a mechanical fire. No injuries were reported at the library. The person or group responsible has not been identified or caught. The explosion is being ruled as a possible terrorist attacks most likely carried out by an American terrorist instead of a foreign terrorist (note Al Qaeda). This wouldn't be the first sporting event in the US that has been bombed. The 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics were bombed by an American terrorist Eric Rudolph. The injured have minor to critical foot and leg injuries. Explosions such as this are not taken with chances particularly on the East Coast of the US where the 9/11 events and recent terrorist threats and rumors have made security tight but on edge. This goes to show that terrorism is not tied to a specific region, ethnic group or religion. The Boston Police, FBI, ATF, National Guard, etc have been carried to aid in the situation

Bombs from Boston to Baghdad: What's the value of a human life?
Please Don't be Muslim: Boston Marathon blasts draws condemnation & fear from Muslims around the world.
The predictable media's rush and quest to automatically link Muslims and Islam with terrorism by default as the main perpetrators of the Boston Bombings caused real fear among American Muslims as well as Muslims around the world from Northern Africa to Pakistan to Malaysia who feel the aftershocks of every attack since September 11 with the reoccurring stereotype of terrorists=Muslims. The language used by reporters (CNN, Fox News) with descriptions of potential suspect/s being "dark  skinned, brown/black man" or "Non suicide bomber." Now that two possible suspects have been id whose ethnicity is obscure, CNN reporters insist that there is some foreign connection despite "looking like typically everyday American." Again associating terrorism to unanimous foreigners hurting Americans in the same vain as Al Qaeda. American Muslims and their co religious around the world as everyone else have condemned the Boston bombings as heartless and horrific attacks. Interfaith prayers have been given for all victims of the bombings regardless of religion or ethnicity. That the value of human life and empathy extends to Pakistanis, Iraqis and Afghans equally who witness terrorist attacks (drones, vehicle bombings) on a near daily basis.
